FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification traces paper fiber back to responsibly managed forests. It is the most credible sustainability certification for paper packaging.
What FSC covers
Forest source, chain-of-custody through pulp mill, paper mill, converter and printer. Every link must be certified for the finished item to carry the logo.
The three FSC label types
FSC 100%, FSC Mix, FSC Recycled. Each has different composition rules.
Cost impact
FSC stock is typically 5–15% more expensive than non-FSC equivalent. Chain-of-custody audits add administrative cost.
When to display
For wellness, luxury, eco-friendly packaging, children's products and government / corporate supply.
